SUMMARY
 2Soft conditions but a solid pace and time for the race. Inclined to take a real positive view of the 3 newcomers in the 1st 3 places. 4th & 5th had previous runs & ran competently. Reeds Bay a bit below his profile level but would not have placed if he ran to that level.
AGrand a cheap 2yo purchase. Look big galloper & fade badly off pressing lead. Track. ATOL held with AG & fade worst. Arctic Dest. race alone on far rail & close to lead & also fade badly.
HV & RB 3rd & 6th at Hf & 1&3L off lead. Kapt Kirkup in 5th at 2L & very profressional FTO. Settle & Travel well. As early leaders fade 2F out HV take up lead & RB try to progress but modest response. KK move up smoothly to take lead off HV 1F out & keep on well to line.
Count Bertoni in 8th at Hf at 4L after a slow start. Arabian Pride in 11th at 6L with Spencer hold-up ride. This pair both make good progress to challenge KK as he took the lead. These efforts seemed to balance out in see-saw style over the last 1F. Both stalled in the last 1F & lost the same amount of ground to KK as they had made up with their efforts inside 2F out. But all three pulled away from others. All probably OR80+ & worth following although note this Soft ground.
HV run ok & SP suggest OR70 type & trainer knows ability of his 2yos. RB a bit below best but prob OR70ish type anyway.
Gold Story made 6 places from last at Hf after a slow start. Lost ground to leaders (say 8L+ to KK) though. Check NTO.
