SUMMARY

Going started GFG but changed to GF & many NRs on day as trainers felt the ground was too quick. Headwind for the race which was run on the stands' rail of the inner course (old NH straight).
Corporal Maddox a talking horse from a trainer that rarely has winners before May. Physically ready for day but mentally too laid back. Missed the break and bumbled around at the back until some late progress. Typical FTO effort for stable and should be ok winner with time. Star Rover led at an even pace on the rail in company with Red Avalanche (more settled in attitude but still can tighten up & strengthen). Heslington missed the break & bustled up to attend the pace again. Gillburg 4th through halfway. The leading pair made an effort at 2f out & outpaced He slington & Gillburg, the former then fading & Gillburg responding to go a clear 3rd. RedAv pressed SRover until late on when he stalled. The winner again hung left inside the final 1f carrying RedAv with him. Solid promise from the 3rd & 4th. RD esert outpaced & faded from 2f in & raced widest. BDaddy looked green or unwilling and would not help the Jk nor go forward. Winner will poss go to Nmkt next week & definitely to the Lily Agnes (trainer target to win it). 2nd can improve further.
