SUMMARY
2Average pace at best. Field race centre early & drift to stands' side aftr halfway. Slow time for conditions & 2.3s slower than Jeanie Johnston recorded yesterday.
Field spread by less than 3L at Halfway. Campaigner always in last & fade most. 1st to to 3rd at Hf finish 4-6th & vice-versa. This seemed an indicaton of ability to make an effort for the most part. House Red & Trailblazing 2nd & 3rd at Hf & outpaced most by usual 2F out effort by leader. HR smaller with some build but look stodgy mover. Trailblazing another trainer 6f FTO supported but in trouble as soon as pace pressure applied. Lucky Rave led at Hf but always running a bit freely. Smaller than 1st 2 & has some pace but not get home over 6f at the course again. Lost 3rd late.
Aattash held up here after missing break & running too freely on debut. Outpaced at 2F and took time to respond. Some progress late on to get to 3rd.
Reeds Bay had run to a similar level to LR when made debut in division of same race at course. Ran poorly STO but that was probably discountable because of track bias at Newcastle (see Preview of June 11th). Lack immediate effort of LR here as comparison of FTO runs would suggest but plug on well in last 1F to lead late on.
Chaperno the first competent Godolphin FTO of year but put under little pressure by race shape. Able to make 1.5L on LR to Led 1F out. Poss idled a bit in front & headed late.
Prob just OR70s form at front & race pace not spread abilities out fully.
