SUMMARY

2Slower time than Crown had run a week before on officially GF rather than GFF. She probably only had to run to a similar level to win in a similar style. Held up off the pace then showing an ability to pick up 1-2 lengths inside 2F out & then hang on comfortably. Looks to have improved for being held up having tried to press the pace STO in a group of speedy fillies and fading. Not proven that she would handle that type of race & small fields and ridden for a late effort looks better for her.
Lucky Mellor press on & set pace. Stalling inside 2F out and hung left. Whip to correct & hang towards rail & briefly hamper Red Avalanche. Faded & eased after than. LM has now faded badly when close to pace on turf & dome better at Southwell in lower grade.
Red Avalanche's improved effort LTO on softer going & allowed to lead. Dropped in here & looked less effective. Not able to match Crown's effort even without the slight block from LM & not go with same rhythm & power overall. Would like to see him back front-running & be aware of improvement for softer going.
Art Jewel looked expendable filly the way she was ridden FTO & easily outpaced here. Prob difficult to place & might end up in claimer if OR proves too high as a winner.
