SUMMARY

Longest race of the season to date mostly contested by smaller types struggling to compete over shorter distances. KC improving for longer distances and able to control race by going just fast enough on the rail to hold those looking to lead out. Line of 4 develop that persisted into the straight. KC on rail with MrS outside (typical for trainer to provide prominent racers) then BS hung in lane 3 (2 Wide) through the race and HA in Lane 4.
An exception to the smaller kit trying to win something before the better horses come onto this patch in Market Maker. Bigger type and look ok for OR70+ on size. Has been running over 6f and getting outpaced and looking like a horses needing 8f+. His last run looked like a quiet effort to set him up for a Nursery. But, probably would not qualify to run in handicaps when they start with three lost runs. Looked to be similar her when held up from the start to end up near the back. Switched out to centre track 2.5F out and starting to make progress when cut-off between two horses and lost 3L. Switched back to rail and plugging on solidly intot he last 1f and going on to the finish. Would have been closer with a clearer run although still looking a relentless galloper and needing this distance and probably further.
