SUMMARY

Faster times on day and only faster times since start 2004 in mid 2006 (the last warm, dry midsummer?) when Hoh Mike got under 59s and a good maiden winner did 59.25s. Course notable for (over-)watering that produces Good and sometimes GGS going that they will still call 'Good to Firm (Watered)' anyway. Seems they kept the taps closed a bit this time.
Marlinka hinted at better ability at Ffos Las but went berserk (relatively) in the Queen Mary and more than 1L clear of that field by halfway which meant she went too fast and failed to get home. Better here for more restrained run although leading at a solid, but usable, pace.
Excello has shown something different in last two runs with an effort that looked a little like quickening on the all-weather and then able to produce a strong burst in the Windsor Castle depite racing too freely. That buzziness seemed to get out of hand here and sweaing all over and too fizzy in prelims. A lot of effort to restrain her in the race turned into a battle and she then found little when asked for the effort. The speedy response on show in last two runs absent.
