SUMMARY
Another Meehan 'Tidy Up' maiden win in a period when he has managed a solid number of these. Slower time and caused by MissS setting a stiff pace and winding it up at various times before the usual 2f efforts. Not a typical race shape and more a flat 'Time Trial' with the leader putting it up to the rest to chase her. Winner in effect broke GT as they only filly that tried to chase the winner. She faded early and a rare race in the sense that the winner was fading inside the last 0.5f and going slowly to the finish (hence the slow time) but had got enough of a lead. Two fillies adrift early on partly through greenness but seemed an active plan with Libertia or the jockey couldn't believe the pace. That one able to trundle back to the faders without doing anything. SUAD an indication of what happened to an ordinary newcomer for the race who tried to chase the pace.
Which left Delira as the only possible 'Closer' in a race where a solid filly ridden 5-6L off the leader through halfway, going ok, would have gone close to winning. But, Delira raced a bit too close and outpaced by the pace wining. Lengthener and plugging on to ge tto second but stalling herself late so never threatening to get to the slowing leader.
