Hannon website after the race = "Best Terms has been working well up at Everleigh and Steve Knight, who supervises things there, was very sweet on her chance, but on form it looked as if she had plenty on her plate. However, though she is only small Best Terms is pretty quick, and now we might give her a break and look at the Lowther Stakes at York and the Cheveley Park at Newmarket. [Hughes said =]Best Terms is a little superstar. When I won on her at Newbury she gave me no feel and I thought she was just a sharp early two-year-old. However, she has worked well since and I could not believe how switched off she was in the paddock. She walked around like an old chaser, and I had to give her a couple of cracks to get her to canter down. She jumped awkwardly and it took me 100 yards to get her balanced, and she is so small that I am like a giant octopus on her. Initially, Richard and Will Edmeads (racing manager to the Barnetts) were thinking about the Albany Stakes, but I reminded them that you needed to stay six furlongs to win the Queen Mary, so we went for the shorter race. "

----------- Pre-Race Quotes ---------

Hannon on his website = "Brian Meehan's Shumoss will be a warm favourite for the Queen Mary Stakes, but everyone up at Everleigh believes that Best Terms has a decent shot of finishing in the money. The boss added: 'Best Terms is a May 19 foal, so she had won two races before she had reached her second birthday. She is very professional and we like her a lot.' "

Fahey on his Sporting Life website blog = "Ebony Clarets goes in the Queen Mary Stakes and she's a filly we like a lot. Bar Miss Work Of Art she's probably our best filly, certainly on homework, but she has to step up. The form of the race she won has mixed messages - the third won a listed race after but the second and the fourth just ran ordinary. She's improved an awful lot and worked very well the other morning. I see she's a big price and I'd expect her to run very well at those odds, she could run into a place. She's very quick and gallops well. She's got some toe and she worked very well the other morning."

Meehan on his website news wrt Shumoos = "Quite understandably favourite for the Queen Mary ever since her explosive debut win at Haydock where she had Frederick Engels well outpaced in second. Continues to work well and this Distorted Humor filly carries maximum stable confidence"
