SUMMARY

Rain and Heavy Showers forecast for the day. Max Temp forecast 13 deg C. Light to Medium WNW Wind = Quarter Headwind from Right in the Back Straight. Mostly Tailwind around the Bend, Quarter Headwind from the Left in the Home Straight.

Poor & Moderate form from those with previous runs and open to a newcomer to win. Spithead limited to OR60s and no helped by being given a very attacking ride early to get to the lead. Underperformed because of that but a lesser physical type than the first two home anyway and would have been overpowered by them to some extent whatever.

Purr Along talked up by trainer Muir and fulfilled that to a reasonable degree. Taller and a solid build and a rangy galloper with some knee action. Always travelling better than the leading pair despite running wide of the rail and left then behind to the straight. Strong finish to see the race out fully. Muir used to get regular FTO wins with OR80+ ones but this the first debut win since 2008. Also the case that the stable needs time to warm up and wins starting this late, aside from the odd utter natural doing it themselves.

Ok debut from Jumeirah Moon without looking definite Open Maiden level. But, a bit green and lacking in condition so can improve solidly STO.

Caramel Sundae totally clueless and got well behind and plugged on abit int he straight to get into the faders. Another Botti debut at a short price but terrible value. When is the Market going to lose this infatuation with Botti? Let's have the useful and vaguely ready ones at shorter SPs FTO rather than 'anything'.
