Note the following overall numbers when reviewing these lists :-

245 = Sires that declared a 2yo runner in 2013 (down from 281 in 2011 & 339 in 2009)

175 = Sires which had at least one win. This was 71.4% of the total.

1,050 = Number of Races

9,988 = Number of Declared Runners = (9.5 horses declared per race on average, 10.2 in 2011).

9,102 = Number of Actual runners after Non Runners & Withdrawals = (average 8.7 runners per race).

2,630 = Number of individual 2yos that ran at least once.

798 = Number of 2yos that won at least one race.

30.3% = Percentage of the 2yo population that won a race (Compare to Sire Winners to Runners %).

11.5% = A good working figure for the win percentage (Strike Rate) an 'Average' Sire should be able to achieve.

3.5 = The number of runs the 'Average' 2yo makes in a season.

In all cases on this website Winner means a horse that has won a race (a non Maiden). Win means success
in an individual race. The general use in Racing of 'Winner' to mean any success is too vague.
