SUMMARY
GF from GS on Decs. 1mm of rain overnight.

Strong+ WSW Wind = Headwind on Ridge and half headwind from right in HS (down the camber).

Rail out by a large amount and course report says this "...adds 12 yards.." to the race distance. Rail out so far that some later races went Stands' Side in the HS despite the firmer going. This field stayed Centre Track after the cutaway.

Dougal notably better quality than the sub OR75 ones the Hannons often send to BTON in the hope of finding a soft race (eg Mandarin Girl 3rd of 6 as their other runner her in 2013).. Bulky sprinter and should rate OR80+. Dropped in again her and settled ok other than a breief period downhill when the two fillies ahead were probably not going fast enough to give him a proper lead. Able to cruise to lead and clear without being asked for an effort. Owner Julie Wood at the course again to see her Zebedee's win.

Brown Velvet again visoed and running too freely in it. Handled the course ok but easily dismissed by Dougal and another 60s one of some sort and below Open Maiden class.

Watching the array of limited ones Channon has run so far has become grimly fascinating. The longer it goes on the more you wonder whether he has has anything better. 2013 was his worst year, by a number of stats (eg Winners, Wins & Strike Rate), and it hasn't gone well so far. Looking through the horse he has entered over the next few days only Moonraker (ASCT Sat) looks a possible better one. When are the mid-May better ones that can compete to win FTO going to be run Mick? They do exist, don't they? Ar Colleen Aine has looked a smaller 60s one on her two previous run and had looked a competent straight mover on her effort at KTNA. No WTRB report files but ACA didn't look like she handled the downhill nor the camber here and moving a bit awkwardly from halfway and a poor effort in the HS.

Lock two men in a studio (Boyce & Weaver) with only the racing from BTON to cover and a lot of time to fill and bad things will happen. Add in a requirement to be sickeningly NICE to everyone and reality gets warped into very peculiar shapes. Marti Ella a small, green and underdone one in condition and got behind, couldn't make any ground back despite being hard driven for a lot of the race then made a very brief effort in the HS then hanging left and fading. A sober report would say there was nothing in her presentation nor performance which could be written up in a positive way. Two men in a soundproof room thought she went ok and showed promise for the future and Mr Moore "does well with the cheap ones" Oh, that's nice.
