Note the following overall numbers when reviewing these lists :-
- 239 = Sires that had a declared 2yo runner in 2014.
- 150 = Sires which had at least one win. This was 62.8% of the total.
- 1,047 = Number of Races
- 10,042 = Number of Declared Runners = (9.5 horses declared per race on average, 10.2 in 2011).
- 9,162 = Number of Actual runners after Non Runners & Withdrawals = (average 8.75 runners per race).
- 2,675 = Number of individual 2yos that ran at least once.
- 805 = Number of 2yos that won at least one race.
- 30.0% = Percentage of the 2yo population that won a race (Compare to Sire Winners to Runners %).
- 11.43% = A good working figure for the win percentage (Strike Rate) an 'Average' Sire should be able to achieve.
- 3.43 = The number of runs the 'Average' 2yo makes in a season.
- In all cases on this website Winner means a horse that has won a race (a non Maiden). Win means a success
in an individual race. The general use in Racing of 'Winner' to mean any success is too vague.
