SUMMARY

=== Post Race ===

Without doubt the WORST QUALITY Nursery field in the B2yoR records (back to 2002). The headline of "Five Runners rated between OR45 to OR47" not doing full justice to just how terribly poor & dreadful this race was. Wherever you looked you could pile up the negativity. Beginning with the fact they had to re-open the race to get this field of 5 assembled. What the hell did the original entries look like and why didn't some trainer wade in and run some "Superstar" who was a real OR53 horse & could crush this mob? Look at the trainers and 2 runners for Mr Shaw who would rank at the WORST trainer of 2yos in the B2yoR view. His record before this race was 46 runners on the season of which NONE had placed. If his 2yos finished 1st/3rd then how appallingly limited were the other 3? Look at the jockeys and, even with a talentless set of horses roped off together, and on 4 of the runners the trainers thought they needed apprentices riding to take some extra weight off to have a chance of winning. 3 of those apprentices inexperienced 7lbs claimers of which 2 finished 4th/last (both females who have had ok seasons winning 10 & 4 races in the season & some mild hope for female jks futures on the day Hayley Turner retired). The other 7lb claimer was probably riding his first winner. The horses involved were not even good '45 horses' with only only 2 of the 5 having ever placed and all have run to substantially sub-45 level in their last 3-6 outings. How does it get this bad? The End of the Turf 2yo Season 2yo day ending with the AW sticking 2 fingers up to the world.
