=== Pre Race ===

Betsy Coed appears in 3 x gallop videos, all earlier season. On March 6th with 3 other fillies including Pacches & Jersey Breeze. With the quartet behind the lead but seems to be eased early and ends up last. Pacches & JB behind the lead with unraced Custom (13k) looking to go best and heading the lead horse at the finish 2L clear of the others. On Mar 17th 'demoted' (?) to a goup with 3 x unnamed & unraced (to date) fillies. Slower work with 4 fillies & lead together at finish. BC again looking similar size of not a bit smaller than the others and niggled a bit because green.

Betsy Coed in a much tougher gallop group on April 10th with 4 others including Kassia & Shine Likediamond. Shore Step as the lead allowed to go a bit faster than typical with all 5 fillies finishing with him and BC looking to be atthe front of the 2yo line (driven a bit to stay there late on). Others going with different amounts of comfort. Hard to judge relative sizes with video quality and low angle.

Lady Macapa an NR the previous day with no reason made public. Trainer Knight makes LadyM his 'Bargain Buy' in 215 noting she has a "big back end" and some scope. Presumably well bought at £7k. Trainer's career with 2yos a bit baffling. Started very well and made a good impression in his first 2-3 seasons with good Strike Rates and ready debuts and FTO wins 7 places at long SPs. On the list as an MO to follow then. But, the record with 2yos has stalled and got worse since with a career low in 2014 with 5 x 2yos run and no win. Competitive debuts have disappeared with no FTO win since 2009 and the odd ones to place on debut since have failed to win during the season. Change of focus by stable to 'career development' and 3yo+ strategy. Less funding? Check how LadyM goes here FTO. Any of the old FTO spark?

Trainer Palmer (a template for the type of career progress Knight did not make) upbeat about Fashion Insider in 215 saying the work riders all like her, etc. But, he seemed to think she would not be a Royal Ascot type because of needing time to develop. Saying he saw her being best July onwards. Starting here perhaps suggest a try out to see if she is forward enough to make ASCT?

Villa Bonita the first Godolphin owned 2yo to start with Gosden? John Ferguson signed for her at the Fasig-Tipton sales so not a Gosden buy he passed on. Not in 215.

=== Post Race ===

Field raced Stands' Rail. Average to slower pace and first 3 home in place, in order, from early on. Why the extended distances back to 5th+? Seemed to be just lesser and/or unready fillies dropped. A fairly even last 2f 'sprint' between the first 4 fillies home with not much relative change as you expect off the usable pace.

Jet Setting the smallest of the 4 but fit and competent and staying on back to the bulkier, but stalling Blossomtime near the line. Leave JS at the same level. Lady Macapa medium between that pair. Looking competitive to win briefly in the last 1f until fading late. Seems a solid debut in light of pre-race info. Perhaps 75. Secret Insider an XNB but 3rd smallest of the 4 and a bit more build than JS but even 70? (check).

Villa Bonita the bulkiest in the 3 in the rear, slowest start and green. Worth a chance to show what power she has when more ready mentally & physically.
