SUMMARY
GF as on Decs. 3mm Watering Thu-Fri & 2mm Sat am. Stiff to Medium SSW Wind = 3/4 Tailwind from the Left.

Stalls Centre.

Fastish looking time but Fast Conditions on Day and probably not that quick = check later races. First thoughts that the pace was too quick with Jk Curtis on Be Bop Tango taking the field along too quickly in Centre Track. BBT 'gone' before 1f out and first 4 through halfway rolling around by that point. That allowed the one horse - Risk Adjusted - who had been sitting well back from the pace at Halfway AND travelling efficiently enough able to to Close into the front 4 in the last 1f. Unusual win from Astley Hall given a number of factors = just medium Sz at best, green and hanging left for the 1st 1f and driven along to chase back to the pace. Despite that did best of the prominent runners and seemed to finish with a bit of ears pricked. Hard to initially match up size impression with the win (and the way he won). More thought.

=== Post Full VRev ===

Still left with mixed feelings. One view is to take the race at face value and say the first 5 are at least 'Northern' Open Maiden Standard and the Strong Pace just mixed things up a bit. Alternate view is to worry about the lack of size of Astley Hall and wonder how he managed to win pricking his ears having run sideways for a lot of the first 2f and chased the pace. What does Risk Adjusted's run amount to since he got outpaced in mid-race and plugged on to 2nd late on without ever being in the race? Is this actually a moderate race with a zippy OR70s winner who won while performaing well below that? Inclined to take the middle view overall and see how the race works out before thinking the first 5 are all solid OR75+.

Astley Hall a smaller one but seemed to show some zip and ability above his size. Despite the problems won a bit comfortably and still fizzy and bouncing being pulled up. Presumably has efficient movement and a good engine to perform to a level above his size but not one to follow much beyond a Northern Novice on size grounds. Vulnerable.

Risk Adjusted for Duffield who can get competitive debuts early but less wound up in recent years. RA only got to 2nd because of the Pace in the race and the way the prominent runners faded. Effectively outpaced in a faster 5f test here. See how he goes STO and whether he is 70+.

Trainer Oldroyd another who can get competitive debuts but not wins at Maiden level this early before. Market did seem to know that Majestic Bond was a natural filly and ran solidly close up and challenging into the last 2f. Later fade. Some sort of 70+.

Be Bop Tango colty in the prelims. Allowed to run too freely in mid-race and an earlyish fade. But, able to put the rest under pressure and seemed an ok size in the race context and given his cheap price. Probably 70+.

Secret Ambition the biggest in the field and the most scope. But, the clueless end of the MaJo debut range and not moving his weight efficiently under the pace pressure here. Rolling around a bit and hanging left at various times. Plus mark given that for making a forward move to get near to challenging the leaders before his fade. Say 80 and ok to follow. Mixed pedigree & probably ok in a less fast 5f test. (BVLY say & 64-5 secs not sub 59secs).

Run Rio Run an early FTO for Dods who gets lots of competitive debuts. But, allowed to drift back by the Jk then made only a short forward move in the last 2f before fading himself despite having missed the faster pace. Leave alone.

Black Diamond Girl some initial pace but then hanging left to the point of the Jk stopping riding. Limited type & poss usable 50s? Association seemed plaing overpowered and poor type.
