=== Pre Race ===

Pursuitofthestars the 3rd x 7f debut of the season for Gosden. His record with the earliest 7f debuts in recent years suggests the early starters are at least 75 types and often include better ones that can win FTO (up to Kingman level). His two previous 7f debuts this week have been strong males who won and were a strong 2nd FTO. In 215 Gosden says POTS is a "sweet filly that moves well". Saying she is a medium size and will be out in the 2nd half of the year. Unless she is really small she doesn't have a pedigree nor profile to 'need' to be out at 7f at the earliest opportunity unless she has the ability to make it worthwhile. Seems like to be a solid 75+ one and see what size she is. Jk Mackay riding.

Latest work video for Rosecomb from early June showing her working with the unraced Duchy (105k, Kyllachy out of a staying dam). Slower work and the pair finish together and little to report. Duchy bulkier of the pair as Bell's 215 comments would suggest.

Bells website said the following on the morning of the race = "Later on the card ROSECOMB makes a return to the track. She did not run as well as expected on her first start at Newmarket and it was felt that she would be better suited over seven furlongs. Hopefully with the step up in trip today she will give a better effort of herself". From outside some aspects of the comment are hard to fathom. Rosecomb was given NO CHANCE to show what she could do FTO because she was hauled to the back in a slower race and then went on a tour of the track to end up racing alone wide on the track. She seemed to run exactly as you would have expected for the ride she was given and why would you be disappointed with the horse? Does Frank have the 'goods' on all these trainers that put up with his 'style'?

=== Post Race ===

Slow Pace which allowed the slow starting and adrift Pursuitofthestars to get back into the group by Halfway. Light rain and fillies kicking up divots and light sprays of water off the grass in other places.

Likeable effort from Dessertoflife in pulling clear and going on at the finish. Clearlt handling the going well and looking a ready and neat time with a good attitude. But, a medium sized niggle over what the form amounted to and whether there were any 75+ types behind. DOL looking a set physical type and 75 ish but may well get 78+ (80+ even?) for this. But, clearly will go fine in early nurseries since she stays well.

She's All Mine (smaller mdm & lack qual) & Miss Pimpernel (narrow & underpowered) looking sub 75 types in different ways. Burning Love looking plain small. In amongst that set Star And Angels looking bulkier and no surprise she found a bit more kick that MP on that basis. But perhaps mid-60s for SAA and leaking into 70s for the best of the rest behind DOL.

Rosecomb looking a similar size int he group and running prominently enough this time but getting unbalanced and going backwards quickly as the pace increased 2f out. Check the Bell website and expect them to be "disappointed" again and perhaps blame the going.

On size and type in VRev Pursuitofthestars not standing up the possibility of being a better early 7f type. Not standing out and around 74? Too green here and gave problems loading and put in hooded last. Jk pulling the hood off as the gates opened and a poor start no surprise. Showed a little bit to get back tot he group but soon fading back in the last 2f.
