CoC quote = "Old Stable Bend and Home Straight moved out and adding 2 yards for all races over 6f". === Pre Race === Searanger a cheap but at the DBU sale in late April. Picture on Duffiled website suggests he is a small(ish) one. Still up behind and lacking scope. Ready type if anything. Inhis Breeze Video looks a bit bulkier. Slowish looking breeze and a bit trundly. Some KA in front and some pounding and medium action speed at most. Added to lack of size seems a moderate mover. Show Palace solf for £18k to Searanger's £15k at the same sale. Looking a similar small(ish) type and perhaps a bit stronger in front. Free in the gather and never organised in the Breeze drifting L&R at times. Notably faster action than Searanger but a bit of KA and little range used. Looks like he is scuttling and the fast action not achieving much. === Post Race ===  Pace dropping after a contested 1st 1f. After 1f there were 6 horses in the leading line from the rail out. This then broke up with some hauled back and the pace settled to a mid race lull. How did Kelly's Dino get from an adrift last (8L back) at Halfway to win? Both he and My Valentino making forward moves in the CZ and moving wide on the track. The pair of them at most 2.5L back at 2f out with a clear run in centre track. A lot of fading from the front 6 at halfway other than Livella Fella (racing settled in 2R & a solid medium size). More pace pressure than it looked or the faders a mix of racing too free and lesser types? [June 22] My Valentino a bit green throughout and A5 jk just limited assistance. Slow start from the widest stall and go behind in the first 1.5f+. Suggesting a Stop-Start pace with a fast start then a mid race lull. Made effort in centre track and ok low level plugging on until fading near the line. Looking a bit green and/or happy being a follower. In the Photo Finish MV in bottom right in Black & Red and dropping out of the Lo4 he had been in from 1.5f out. The winner in the picture is Kelly's Dino (in light green & yellow) who had been last after 1f and off the back driven along. Joined MV wide out in last 2f and MV looking happy just to follow KD. MV a smaller medium one if ok build. Still a bit young looking overall. |
