Trainer Ellison briefly interviewed after the race. Reported his jk said the Pace was a 'crawl' for 2f and when the race kicked off at 2f out it took time for Prince Helvellyn to pick up and get after them. In context a solid effort to run down a horse who got an Easy Lead for 2l+ and staying on fine. Ellison saying probably 7f next and gave impression he thinks the horse is 80+ over his career. PH at least 2 sizes bigger than RRR which shows up even in the Photo Finish print above.

To make the Slow Time point (even if the shower before racing had got in more) the time for this race was 3.43secs slower than the preceding Novice Race. Which means in Time terms this race is worth a Negative rating.

Garcia looking a bit on the taller and a touch narrow side, especiall compare to PH/MrG for example. Athletic enough but a bit underpowered. Not looking the strong built type of the sire.

[July 18th] Murdanova running better than the final position. Probably just a solid smaller medium one and a touch green overall here. Showing in initial slowness of response but always wising up soon after. Niggled around halfway then driven before 2f out and after the usual time-to-think then making a solid forward effort to be challenging for the lead around 1.5f out. Fading quicker than average around 1f out to hide that. Drops back to 5f STO and check if condition & nous nearer to fully ready. Runs in a tough looking YORK maiden STO which loks a poor call by the trainer (unless the owner wants a social run). Send Murdanova to a lesser Northen maiden and he would be of some interest STO. All he seems likely to achieve by running competently at YORK will be to mess up his Nursery mark.
