SUMMARY
S by Race Time = officially GSG to GS after race 1 (this one) then GS to S after Race 2. GGS at 06:15am from G on Decs. No info about Rain nor Watering. In the Results Section in the BHA Websitte (but nowhere else) there is this info about Rain as 1.5mm Sun, 4.5mm Sat, 3mm Fri, 2.5mm Thu. Rain Showers forecast for the day.

CoC quote = " Innermost line out 8m adding 24yds to distances 7f to 1m2f". Which makes this race 7f & 74yds (= 7.336f). Not realy a '7f' race, is it.

=== Pre Race ===

My Two Scoops expensive at the Doncaster 2yo sale in April. Picture on the Duffield website showing a pretty typical body shape and set-up the trainer buys. A touch narrow with some body length but looking balanced and (they presumably hope) move well. Breeze Video supports the view about the body shape. Having watched a lot of 'Showcasings' Breeze they tend to be similar types but in different sizes. Fully grown ready types lacking body length and balanced set-up. MTS looking longer bodied and a touch narrow in the gather side-on. Not as neat a mover as the typical one by the sire. Average cadence or perhaps a little more. Point that stands out is he seems more rangy and gallop oriented than the typical 'rubber balls' the sire gets. Drifts left overall and keeps the range going later in the breeze although the cadence drops. Not looking a flat out ready sprinter and might stay more than 5f. Note MTS had white socks so very flashy and worth thinking about that affects the viisual view of range, etc.

Overall gut feeling so far in 2015 is that the work pictures on the MaJo website have been pretty helpful in sorting the 2yos into, at least, rough No-Ok-Yes groupings. Worth following that up post season, say by producing a set of the Debut/Season Ratings matched with the pictures for reference. Picture for New Caledonia interesting because he looks the sort of short height but heavy build with length typical of a good 'Cape Cross'. On that view looks a candidate for a better debut although vague niggles about is he just a neat & medium frame despite the bulk (=size limited to some level) and a bit round behind? Go with initial reaction for [Prf] then see what the PRev looks like.

The Knave declared twice before (May 28th, June 30th) and an NR both times because of the going being either G or GGS. Declared here on G going so presumably expecting it to be faster than that. These were the Breeze Video notes from May 30th = The Knave retained at the TGB sale as he had been as a yearling by the owner who bought him as a foal. Funny how you never hear that sort of story tweeted about or highlighted by the Racing Post, just the random successes. Breeze Video for The Knave showing a medium build & lenghtier one in gather and looking medium size at most. Does a poor breeze showing a slow action, also a bit ragged in places. Uses the same lengthy but slow stride throughout and not looking a 6f horse and a slower 7f+ type. In the wrong sale if people are there looking for how fast the breezer can do 2f. Say, 60 if he isn't just slow but hard to see him needing less than 7f and/or a slow test he can roll along in.

=== Post Race ===

Average to Slower Pace with Dutch Heiress getting an easy time in the lead and on the rail. Race devloping into an extended 2.5f effort in the HS.

[July 19th] My Two Scoops more promising than a midfield 6th finish suggests. Drawn widest and running too freely for the first half of the race. Wide draw mean he was hung out 3 Wide after 1f in the leading line. Jk then hauled him back to 3R but MTS still not settling and 2 Wide for the bend. Solid effort inthe HS until fading late. MTS a medium and neat one and stronger front. Looking an enthusiast and a trier. Also looked a clean, straight and efficient mover. Using his range well and rhythmically.. Lower action in front with little KA working ok on sft but think he might look better on faster going. Turned out STO off a 6 day break which is a niggle and check whether he looks 'just' a neat one and lacking a bit of size STO. But for the size check & 6 day break would seem a solid 74+ prospect for STO on a straight track on faster going.
