G by Race Time. Rain Showers forecast for the day. GFG in early am from GGF on Decs. Watering on Saturday to Sunday but no details given.

Odd start to the race in wet conditions. Stalls placed on the outside rail in the BS to provide more of an angle on the short run to the bend. Lagenda in the widest stall on the Far Rail which should have been an advantage. But, nearly every other jk in the field seemed determined to be at-the-back and miles off the pace. Which meant, even with a short run, Lagenda able to jog over fromt he widest stall to a 2L lead into the bend for close to no effort. Only Moi Aussi & Mister Zoff (free & held) within 2.5L of him to the bend with the others back by 4L+ in a wide ruck going to the rail and not sorted out. MA & MZ in 2R to the bend and come from the next 2 widest stalls inside Lagenda. What were the other jks up too? A lot of wide running on the bend and Lagenda's jk able to slow the pace even more and stack the others. Picture below showing the wide rnning on the bend as they turn into the HS. Note there is some foreshortening and the wide runners are giving Lagenda a real head start as well as running further.
