=== Post Race ===

Weak Nursery with the ORs spread from Thee And Me as a clear tpopweight on 75 and the others 64 down to a bottomweight 54 equivalent. The 1st & 3rd home were running off 54 despite their actual ORs being 51 (Powerful Dream) & 44 (Wicked Woo).

Captain Cliche (a long way from Mansfield and getting a nosebleed) started his 'Nice Horse' Paddock commentary by intervieweing Bill Turner on the basis you should "always back the topweight in nurseries". Downside Bill in a typical miserable mood and launched straight into a moan about how could the BHA handicapper (Matthew Tester) think Thee And Mee was a '75' horse. Mr Tester had tweeted earlier in the day that his first set of ORs would be made public on the day and he expected to start receiving calls from Trainers taking issue with his figures. Presumablly 99%+ involve a "too high" moan.

Looking at TAM in VRev you could see Turner's point in that TAM a smallish one shuffling around looking a 60s one and no different from the general size and set-ups in a weak field. But, Mr Tester has a particular way of working and Bill should have learnt the rules by now and not run TAM in races that get over-rated. Turner then saying that the Evans' horse (Silver Springs) should win on his WDSR form and his OR too low. Poor tipping Bill.

Standing back from the in-fighting you would say before the race was run that the wide range of ORs was not reflected in the sizes and types on dispaly. They are a 50s bunch with the perhaps leak 60s and lacking scope overall. It was an open race and it would not take much 'Minor Chaos' to produce a longer priced winner. With TAM on too high and OR and not running well in recent runs he ran poorly. Sing Something just a smaller and neat one in the field and 64 a bit high in the full term. He blew the start and got well behind. The race set up for Closers as the Halfway to Final placings show but he still was unable to get by similar sized horses with a small head start. Silver Springs driven along at times and not looking fully willing and hustled into the lead wide on the track before halfway. A headwind and the Pace not lasting out as so often this season at the course. Which meant the race set up for a 'surprise' win of some sort.

Powerful Dream only on OR54 (from 51) but the tallest in the field. A bit narrow and light but still more range and scope than the average here. Ron Harris interviewed post race and said she ran well FTO (where she presumably earned the OR51 although running below that level in reality) then had disappointed STO and he did not know why. Captin Cliche moving on before asking about the 3TO run. Ron giving the impression his set of later run Nursery developers may be down to him taking a long time to work a horse out rather than highly targetted sysyem playing.
