SUMMARY
Medium to Stiff NW Wind = Slight Tailwind from the Left in BS, helpful on the bend and a Slight Headwind from the right in the HS.

Race had to re-open due to the small number of 5 Day Entries.

Wind from the exact opposite direction from the previous Saturday when Anwar was beaten 3.75L behind a slow 61.49secs.

Picture of the Finish (L to R):- Rosealee, Just That Lord & Anwar

First View reaction of a Slow Pace which developed into 1.5f+ Sprint Race in the HS. The two on STOs forming up into a Leading Pair and both going too freely to Halfway. That pair having a head-to-head duel in the HS with Anwar stalling a bit later than Just That Lord and a head up at the line. That pair looking some sort of 'mid 70s' types. Rosealee looking smaller than that pair but a compact, ready sprint shape and well prepared. Also more professional than the STO pair. Rosealee looking a natural sat settled on the rail and able to overhaul the other pair late on through a gap on the rail. See what the PRev says but she is perhaps another OR70s type lacking scope but who can compete ok in early Conditions level (will get rated OR80+ but never really that long term level). Tawakkol with Hanagan riding so unlikely to be assisted much by the jk in organising himself for a professional FTO. A bit slow to break then allowed by Hanagan to sit 2 wide around the bend. The bulkiest of the group and looking a bit 'boaty' when caught up in a 1.5f sprint against nippier types who had a head start. Stuck at it fine and suspect he is the best of these and a proper OR80+ and ok for 6f.

[Post VRev] Rosealee one of those small/smaller early season 2yos that can easily catch out Paddock Reviewers. Lacking size but 'complete' & balanced set-up now. Has some zip above her size. On size grounds one where you try to use Rosealee winning to hold down the form level. But, she gave the leading pair 1.5L headstart and seemed to show a 'another gear' to overlap them soon into the last 1f and see out the last 0.5f better. Form in a short sprint in the HS but has a bit of kick above her size on this surface. But, lacking scope and probably an low to mid 70s in reality as a mid-season+ 2yo. Ought to be overpowered in higher class races but early season fillies' Novices and races which turn into a short sprint will see her competitive early. For example, would she stay the 5f in the Hilary Needler? How would she compare to a typical recent field for that race? (TDE would have something bigger, etc)

Anwar at least one size bigger, all round, than Roseallee and ought to be around OR75 at this stage in the season. Hughes riding her (Levey FTO) and perhaps a bit buzzed up and held in the stalls. Broke ok and in the Leading Pair outside JTL after 0.5f but held back and FFH for most of way until after 2f on the bend. Enough wasted effort to perhaps explain the stall 0.5f out and the very late fade. Solid effort in the HS sprint and with Hughes delaying to ask for the final effort until close to 1f out then Rosealee making her effort up to 0.5f earlier to make the close up to overlap. Ok kick to get up to and past JTL but not seeing the last 0.5f out. Looks a standard issue Hannon 70s filly who will win her maiden but not shown anything in two runs to suggest she is better than that.

Just That Lord a different physical type and a bit taller than the fillies but narrower bodied. PRev says mulish to some extent in the prelims. Effectively got an easy lead and ran a touch free early on the bend but less so that Anwar. Made his final effort early in the HS and that not enough to get Anwar into her top gear (Hughes able to delay ask) nor to stop Rosealee making ground on him by 1f out. Earlier fade given the earlier effort start. Ought to get OR70+ but downgrade view a bit from Brocklesby VT (narrowness confirmed). Early signs for the Brocklesby overall on the negative side with the 2nd/4th both beaten since by newcomers who looked just Ok 70s in winning (not stretching clear, quickening, travelling smoothly throughout, etc)

Tawakkol more body length than the fillies and a different type. Green and calling in the prelims. Hanagan failed to get him organised in the stalls and the horse leant on the side as the gates opened and a slower start. Indicative of a slow pace in the BS (with JTL held back) that Tawakkol got onto the back of the group comfortably (if the leaders had zipped off and run close to 60s he may well have been left behind). Running 2 Wide around the bend and always looking like he was learning-on-the-job. Rolled a touch wide in the HS to run centre track. A bit green but a different mover to the first 3 and looking more a galloper. A short sprint in the HS making him look unsuited to 5f on this debut. Can presumably win at 5f in a weak race but better 6f+ and say around OR80.

Frank Bridge a touch shorter than Rosealee and too small to be interesting. Some build positive and green here. Ridden by A5 While (rode JTL FTO) with leading AW rider (100 winners over the winter) Morris on JTL. FB able to get onto the back of the other 4 around the bend assisted by the lesser pace. But, outpaced int he HS and plugged on at his own pace until the 0.5f fade. The sort Turner would aim at a weak seller at RDCR/BATH but with so few sellers during the season now needs to win a dire one quickly.
