SUMMARY
G by race time from GGS in early am which is when the going stick reading was taken.

Outer course in use.

Medium Westerly wind = 1/2 headwind from the right.

=== Pre Race ===

Discreet Hero the £90k sale topper from Brightwells ' Ascot breeze sales. The agent that bought him quoted on the day = "He's been bought for a client of mine and will race in Britain," said Coleman. "He came highly recommended by Katie Walsh, who was very sweet on him. He did the fastest breeze and is by a sire who did exceptionally well with his first crop of two-year-olds. He looks a strong, precocious type and we'd like to think he could be back here in June for Royal Ascot - that's the plan. He also has the French premiums, which gives us a different angle and we could be tempted to run him over there at some stage.".

Why send DH to McCabe? His angle last year was to give the 2yos time after the sales to become less buzzy & develop. How does that fit with the "get this thing to Royal Ascot" request. Discreet Hero a medium sized , IP body & neatly made. Goes along smoothly and appears to show range in front (bandages?). Seems to tiring late on.

First Party looking green and rolling around a bit in her breeze with the head held oddly at times. Looks like MaJo runner before he bought her. Mix of sire types with some bulk but a touch narrow and some range. Does have a faster action and can improve for just running straight with a more efficient action.

=== Post Race ===

Official Video Archive shows whole race covered from a single camera in the stands. To rectify that here is a Video of mid race positions.
Mid Race Video

Mixed pace race with an average first 1.5f say with leading pair of First Party & Sir Theodore held back to some extent.. Pace picking up by Halfway with First Party adding some extra pressure. Enough to see only FP going forward fully at the line.

[June 3rd] Key On Kodiac smaller medium one with ok build. Not fit enough and green overall and a sloppy attitude. Got behind in the first part of the race then made steady lower level progress on the wide outside (orange colours at the back in the picture) to pass the fading 2R & 3R members and join the fading SirT (black colours behind the grey leader FP). Not showing any zip but staying on ok. Steps up to 6f STO. Looks below Open Maiden level on size (perhaps why sent North to RIPN STO?).

[June 11th] Discreet Hero running back at the course over 6.1f on GF going having not seen out 5.1f on GF FTO. In Prev on debut what you would expect from a McCabe and agent expensive sales purchase in being heavily built and short. DH lacking the body length of some of their (few) better buys and just averagely neatly made. DH running just ok in the race, Solid break, sitting second rank (2R) handling the pace to halfway ok. Having to be driven along, and start his final effort, before 2f out and just a lower level plugging on (Po) until stalling and fading in the last 1f. Stepping up to 6.1f because lacked the pace to make any progress later in the race FTO? Will he be fitter here and can he see out the full race distance? He did not see out his 2f breeze nor the 5.1f debut. Seemed just middling range and efficiency in movement FTO and not stretching out later in the race and little increase in cadence. On build might be around 80 but inclined to stick him at 74 partly because of of movement questions. The trainer is on the list of "Cannot support unless a sparkling PRev presentation by the horse" anyway. Further question over the quality of the debut race form which looked mostly sub-75 on the day. 3rd, 4th-6th all beaten since and DH no more promising than Corridor Kid overall (beaten twice since).
