SUMMARY
GF from GFF on decs. 12mm watering during Thu-Fri period.

=== Pre Race ===

Fahey quote from his SLife piece = "Mayfair Lady goes all right at home ahead of her debut in the Maiden Stakes. She’s no superstar but is very genuine and tries hard. She’s okay".

El Astronaute free runner and sweating on evidence of his Breeze Video. Looks taller than sire average & perhaps upright longer neck and upright action in front (but also v straight). Slightly faster action but gives feel of lacking range & once up to max cadence there isn't anything else.

=== Post Race ===

Lydia's Place as small as thought but ver professional and suited to the fast conditions. Fast time but race low quality on profile depending upon what FB/EA amounted to. First two home perhaps lower 60s in real terms. Ayresome Angel going too free, trainer typical, and showing some range in front and looking a bit better than previous takes. Bit bigger than LP.

First Bombardment a terrible odds-on favourite even in a weak looking race. Shown a range of attitude issues in previous runs and O'Meara, oddly, seems to struggle to fix juveniles. FB in an XNB but flopped from stalls shaking his head. Then scrubbed along to halfway looking unwilling or feeling ground. Jk very active to 2f out incxluding whip but modest response from FB who seemed to pack it in 1f out. [Update = stewards asked O'Meara about FB's poor run and he said that FB "did not face the cross noseband" (XNB). Which would fit with the early head shaking but overall feels like a tricky horse adding to his range of attitude quirks.]

El Astronaute ok size in a small group but smaller mdm overall at best. Drift in Market feels of some significance with a Quinn debut (check). They seem to have competitive FTOs and educational ones and not much in between. EA looking a free runner in his breeze and drawn widest here. Appeared that the Jk spent the time Halfway holdin EA trying to get him to settle and held away from the others. Jk ignoring the fact this got him miles behind at halfway. Poor response to 2f out when jk went from holding to asking for effort. EA's head to the right and hanging left. An Educ Intro FTO with some feeling-the-going tacked on? Downhill on GFF uncomfortable with his action? Inclined to view he will be on a less fast track STO & on easier going. See if he can settle and run a race.
