SUMMARY
GF by race time. GFG as on decs. Some rain on Friday am meant the watering the CoC planned was cancelled.

=== Pre Race ===

Alizoom's Breeze Video short at only 23secs, Looks medium and solid build. Moves mostly straight with a slightly faster action. Some pound in front makes him look more galloping, uses ok reach behind. All ok without looking better type.

=== Post Race Summary ===

Fastish time but fast conditions and not an efficient looking race. Lot of rolling around, not picking up much, greenery etc. among the leading 6 in last 2f. Ground probably firm enough to account for some of that.

Hannon's have oftened used the Thursday 5f maiden in mid May here to start winners & a lot of better ones over the years. Two cheap buys there this year and looking lesser types. Orvar looking a better one on Profile and mostly standing that up in PRev and the race. Strong deep sprinter type. Travelled well in the race then took time to pick up and hung left. Quietly re-organised by the jk and going away at the finish. Solid 85+ type.

Trainer Giles a poor record so far with 2yos and Operative the second ever FTO place. Horse managing that despite being green in the the prelims (picture shows) and in the race. Rolling around in the last 2f with the jk active trying to get him to go foward and find a rhythm to ride to. A bit taller in the group and an ok build and seems an ok sign he ran ok FTO despite green. Has a good 5f 2yo pedigree and should be 75+ but trainer able to find the career improvement?

In a mixed bag field physically for 5f try comapring the pictures of Deer Song & Kyllukey. The latter very strongly built and deep but perhaps a bit too compact body length. Given a laughable debut ride by Frank and invovled in the leading pair here and a moderate effort overall. Pace perhaps a touch strong but no real excuse. Did not pick up inside 2f out and jk got active with the whip. Wonder whether he was refusing to stretch out on the ground or doesn't have much range. Has not shown he possessing range and efficient movement yet. Ought to be an 80+ sprinter but some niggles at present. [May 26th update = quote from Hills website = "We were disappointed by Kyllukey, but Steve Drowne came back in and said he still felt slightly weak so maybe he's about to go through another growing phase. He's better than he showed." ]

Deer Song taller and narrower but has some pace although running too free again. should be usable 60-64 but unable to put a race together and trainer Bridger showing little sign of knowing how to get the best out of some usable 2yos so far this year (as ever).

Sweet Taboo a good sprint 2yo pedigree but a cheap buy. NR twice in April the second time for illness. Smaller and not neatly made. 60ish type Evans will run a lot and win something with.

Trainer Varian an untypical slow start with 2yos so far. Not given us a strong debut by a better one to date. As a 'ready FTO' trainer his six debuts to date have produced 4ths at best = not right. Alizoom looking another of the solidly built sprinter types in the field but less strong than either Orvar or Kyllukey in comparison. In 2R after 2f then jumped the path and got a bit unbalanced. Jk not that active after and Alizoom looking green and not picking up in the last 2f. Should be ok for 75 and interested in why the Varain record so poor by his standards so far.
