SUMMARY
GF from GFG on Decs. 6mm watering Friday.

=== Pre Race ===

Chicago School another 'Willoughby Project' Breeze buy for MaJo. Results going ok so far with a FTO win by First Party & a dual winner with First Selection for trainer Crisford. FS's conditions win at BVLY STO barely worth 70s after a staying on win as a closer in a slower time than a moderate to average Hilary Needler. CS expensive for sire and ped and viewed his breeze Video with that background knowledge in mind.

Chicago School looking a smaller medium one in the Gather but very neatly made, balanced and a ready type. Shorter neck, IP body length, ok deep & strong. Bouncy at the walk and looking willing. Gets up to speed quickly after the 2f pole, runs straight, sticks his neck out and used the range he has. Sees out the 2f but cadence dropping a bit soon after. Looked a faster gallop, efficient and get on with and a positive attitude. Overall would have a niggle over cheching size and scope but good prospect as a ready 2yo & looks professional already.

Freeze Style the 6th debut for new sire Frozen Power who has a big crop to represent him in 2015 (92 of 114 yearlings offerred in 2014 were sold). Stood at a low fee (presumably with a lot of discounts) and a big crop but how much quality?. Nothing worthwhile in first 5 runners which included a small one that won a poor seller STO. Sire better 7-8f as a 2yo.

Freeze Style's Breeze Video interesting to watch straight after that of Chicago School. Difference in physical type and quality very visible. FS a lot less neatly made, lengthier and still up behind. Less build and depth with body more of a 'tube'. Neck weaker and longer. Runs straight but seems to be labouring a bit & never fully balanced. Upright neck and very little knee lift in front and lacking or not using range. Would rather be involved with 65k for CS than £30k for FS.

=== Post Race ===

[June 1st] Solid pace with Martini Malibu running freely in the lead on the rain. Roll On Rory in an XNB and pulling forward to join MM after 1f. ROR making a solid effort wide in last 2f and seeing the full5f out. Midnight Malibu looking as strong as ROR and running better than final fade to 4th shows. MM looks ok as a 70+ 5f with devt. Freeze Style breaking left and bumping CS and losing 2L. FS in the last pair and niggled a bit at times as if finsing pace a bit fast. FS looking shorter but ok build and getting to a Volunteer 3rd by staying on and never in the race.

Chicago Shool looking mostly 'as advertised' from the Breeze Video and running competently. Niggle over being a bit 'medium' and a touch size limited remains. Mostly settled running wide and made a real forward effort in last 2f to go forward to challenge ROR. CS getting tired in last 0.5f and wandering around a bit but trying hard. CS running on the same 5f course STO but on SGS going with a stiff headwind. CS got the progression from this debut run to see out the 5f STO in those conditions?
