- Linda Agnes Perratt. Moved from her owned stables near Ayr racecourse to become salaried trainer at owner Gordon McDowall's yard at Carluke. Mr McDowall owns the 'Howard' prefixed horses (orange & black colours). Ian Semple had been the trainer at the yard for 10 years but wanted to hand in his licence and move back to being an assistant. He recommended Linda Perratt for the post after a round of interviews had failed to find a suitable candidate.
- Indifferent results in 2009 saw Miss Perratt lose the job with Mr McDowall and be replaced by the returning Mr Semple. Training from an 18 box yard at the start of 2010.
