In this case a 'Slice' refers to taking a percentage of the Index, from the start, to analyse. In the case of the trainer with his ten 2yos a '50% Debut slice' would refer to the first 5 of his juveniles that made their debuts during the season.

The first three columns give information about the number of 2yo runners & winners the trainer had along with the number of runners that qualify for the 'Debut Slice'. The fourth column is the percentage of that 'Slice' that won during the season. The final column is the percentage of all of the stable's winners that were in that sampling.

The table uses the common unit to be 'Guineas' and sales made in other currencies (Pounds Sterling, Euros, US dollars, etc.) are converted to guineas. A 'Guinea' is £1.05, i.e. one pounds sterling plus 5%. Each grouping refers to sales prices recorded for 2yos that ran for the stable in that price range.

Note: Where the 2yos were not offered at sales but were bred by their owners, for whom they raced, they are denoted as 'Owner Bred'.

The first figure in each cell is the number of winners for the trainer who qualify in that 'Sales Price' grouping. The second figure is the total number of 2yos in that group. Therefore, "4-8" would mean eight 2yos in that group of which four were winners during the season.
