SUMMARY
GGS as on Decs. 1mm of Rain Ovenight. GStick 07:45am as 5.9 Centre, Far & StdsSd 6.0. But then says overall is 6.3 without giving a figure for any part of the Round Course.

Stalls Centre.

13DegC. Stiff to Strong NNE Wind = Close to 3/4 Headwind from Right HS.

Fahey pre-race = "Neighbother ran at very well at Ayr on Thursday, finishing second. It was very encouraging and we'll see how he is in the morning before we decide whether to turn him out again quickly. Bahamian C has been gelded as he was a bit of a playboy. He's settled down a bit now and while he might just need the run he's capable of being competitive off this mark. However if I had to pick one of my trio it would be Spiceupyourlife. She won at Ripon last time and while she's started to go in her coat a little, she's working really at the moment."

Mostly Even Break. Field raced Wide spread across centre line but an Echeloned Peleton. Disclosure & Musical Comedy leading on Cent-FrSd and that side 1-2L up in General with more of the Last Rank on Cent-Stds Sd. Ldg 3 on Stds Sd of Centre = Iftaar, Neighbother & Aelous. Looked an average pace and only 5L front to back at Hf.

Final Result still has strong traces of that 'Draw' vs 'Track Strip raced on' Set-up from Hf. Also worth noting that in a race with an average pace the 11th to 18th finishers lost between 6-20 V-TLens and Kickboxer poss bucked that to some extent given where he raced.

Kickboxer important at present because he was beaten 5.5L (say 15-18pts) by Hot Streak LTO and the Hype around the time performance Hot Streak put up (often good to be wary of ASCT performances) is feeding on itself. HS runs in the Group 1 Middle Park the day after this race. Haven't seen any mention of how if Hot Streak did something startling at ASCT then Kickboxer is a 100+ horse and shouldn't be 6/1 off OR79 in a nursery. Shouldn't be getting beaten in it even if he got a bit of a slow start and raced in wrong place. As a physical type Kickboxer isn't the 100+ the Hot Streak hype says he should be.
